A seafood delicacy and a simple mouthwatering recipe. My 2021 trip to India was a long stay. I got to taste food from all my dear ones, eral puttu was one such food we enjoyed sent by my sister. I got this recipe from her and fell in love with the taste. I have shared her recipe here. Cooking in a mud pot enhances the cooking flavor of it so try to cook in a mud pot.
Ingredients:
Shrimp - 250 gms
Onions finely chopped - 1 cup
Ginger finely chopped - 5
Green chili finely chopped - 1 inch
Chili powder - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
Oil
Salt to taste
Method:
- Steam cook the shrimp with a little salt, turmeric, and chili powder.
- Pulse grind the shrimp to a coarse consistency.
- Save some shrimp, this step is optional.
- In a Kadai add a little oil and saute the chopped onions, ginger, green chili. sprinkle some more salt.
- Add a little turmeric.
- Now add the ground shrimp.
- Saute and fry for a while until dry.
