Karuveppilai Chicken


A popular spicy and tasty dish, with loads of curry leaves.

 Ingredients:

boneless chicken - 1/2 kg
curry leaves - 1 cup
red chili - 8 to 10
dhania - 1 tbsp
garlic - 8 pods
cumin - 1 tsp
cinnamon - 1inch
cardamom - 2
cloves - 4
star anise - a small piece
maratti mokku - a small piece
jadhi pathri - a small piece
oil - 3 tbsp
onion - 1 medium sliced
turmeric - 1/2 tsp


Method:

  • Dry roast the masala ingredients, dhania, red chili, garlic, cumin, cinnamon, cloves, star anise, maze, cardamom

  • When aromatic, add curry leaves
  • Cool them and grind to a coarse texture

  • In a kadai add some oil and saute the onions
  • Add turmeric, salt, and more curry leaves
  • Now add the chicken and saute for a few minutes

  • Add the ground masala and fry, do not add water
  • Add the masala powder to your taste
  • Cook until oil separates
  • Garnish with more curry leaves
  • Enjoy spicy and tasty curry leaves chicken, with rice, roti, pulao...
