Chili Prawn/Shrimp


Sweet and spicy chili prawns, absolutely delicious and packed with flavors. What else can make a wonderful quick Indo-Chinese starter.
As prawns dont take much time to cook, you can make it when you have some unexpected guest, at no time.

Preparation Time :10 mins | Cooking Time : 15 mins |Serves: 4
Marination for 15mins
Ingredients:

Shrimp/Prawns - 1 lb/ 400 gms
Chili powder - 1/4 tsp
Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
All purpose flour - 2 tsp
Capsicum - 1
Onion - 1
Garlic - 3 to 4 cloves
Green chili - 4
Red chili - 4
Green onions - 1 cup
Oil
Salt to taste

For Sauce:

Tomato Ketchup - 2 tsp
Soy sauce - 2 tsp
Red chili sauce/ chili flakes - 1 tsp or to taste 
Sugar - 1 tsp

Method:
  • Marinate shrimp with chili powder, turmeric and little salt for 15 mins.
  • Toss the shrimp in all purpose flour and keep it aside in a plate.


  • Cut the vegetables, mix the sauces for marinade and keep them all ready.

  •  Heat oil in a pan and fry the shrimp in batches. It takes only 2 to 3 mins per side.



  • In the same pan (remove the oil) add the garlic fry for a while. Then add the onions, red chili, green chili.

  • Add the sauce mix, quick stir and add the capsicum, onions (big chunks).


  •  Mix and blend together.
  • Add the shrimp, green onions and mix and coat together. Switch off.

  • Enjoy it while hot and crispy.
