Ingredients:
shrimp/prawns - 250 gms
turmeric - 1/2 tsp
ginger garlic paste - 1tbsp
green chili - 3 nos finely chopped
mint - 1 tbsp
coriander - 1 tbsp
curry leaves - 1 tbsp
onion - 1 1/2 cup finely chopped
chilli powder - 1 tsp (optional)
besan flour - 1/2 cup
rice flour - 2 tbsp
baking soda - a pinch
salt to taste
oil for frying
Method:
- Clean and slit shrimp lengthwise
- Marinate with salt, turmeric, and ginger garlic paste
- Add green chilies, mint, coriander, curry leaves
- Add 1 cup of finely chopped onion and save 1/2 cup to add later
- Add red chili powder, cover, and rest for few mins
- Add the remaining onions, besan, rice four and adjust salt or spice level
- The batter should be a little dry to get crispy pakodas. Sprinkle water only if needed
- Fry them in hot oil, keep flame medium-high and make small balls to make the pakodas. Fry until golden brown
- Enjoy your pakodas with mint chutney
