Potato Tawa Roast

Quick and easy potato tawa roast.
Again a favorite recipe for me that was prepared by Amma frequently, and I have enjoyed it a lot. This recipe is a substitute when nonveg is a no-no at home. The flavor from garlic and cumin is an extra touch. Amma's preparation has a lot of garlic, and maybe that's a reason I have carried it over in my cooking, and I loved it too.

 Preparation Time:30 mins |Cooking Time:10 mins |Serves: 4

Ingredients:
  • Potatoes - 2 large size boiled
  • Garlic - 6 to7 cloves
  • Cumin - 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
  • Chili powder - 1 1/2 tsp
  • Dhania powder - 1 tsp
  • Pepper - 1/4 tsp (optional)
  • Oil
  • Salt
  • Curry leaves

Method:
  • Slice the boiled potatoes into thick pieces.
  • Grind the following ingredients in the picture.

  • Add 1/4 cup water to grind to a smooth paste.

  • Season the potato with salt. Add some oil and the ground masala.

  • Coat the potato slices evenly with the masala. No need to marinate.
  • Shallow fry on a tawa with a tbsp oil.

  • Turn and cook the other side.
  • Add curry leaves when done.
  • Enjoy the tawa roast with a mild rasam or sambar.
