Vegetarian North Indian Curry with a tomato base and a nut free sauce.
This is a simple and made easy recipe.
Preparation Time :10 mins | Cooking Time : 20 mins |Serves: 4
Ingredients:
Onion - 1
Tomatoes - 2
Ginger garlic paste - 1tbsp
Jeera - 1 tsp
Kasoori methi - 1 tsp
Thick curd/Hung curd - 1 cup
Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
Chili powder - 1 tsp
Dania - 1 tsp
Garam masala - 1/4 tsp (optional)
Paneer - 200 gms
Peas - 1 cup
Method:
- In a wide pan add oil and fry jeera until you get nice aroma.
- Add the ginger garlic paste and fry for a while.
- Add the onions, tomatoes and cook until soft.
- When they turn soft blend them with a stick blender. If you don't have one, cool them and grind in a mixer.
- Add turmeric, chili powder, dania and salt.
- When starts to boil add the curd and mix well.
- Now add the methi.
- I had fried paneer, I am frying the green peas in a tbsp of butter.
- When the gravy starts to leave oil, add the paneer and peas.
- Blend all together and garnish with cilantro.
- Serve with Nan/Roti, Pulao/Rice........
