neer moru a healthy and affordable drink for all. Arubathimoovar festival is a famous annual festival celebrated in the Kapaleeswarar Temple in Mylapore in Chennai. During this time you could see a lot of people serving food and drinks through the streets. Neer moru will definitely be one among them. It is also served inside temples during summer.
Preparation Time: 10 mins |Serves: 4
Ingredients: (The following ingredients can be adjusted according to your taste)
Curd/Yogurt - 1 cup
Ginger - a small piece
Green Chilli - 1
Cumin - 1/2 tsp
Asfoetida - 1 pinch
Curry leaves - 5
Coriander leaves/Cilantro - a little
Salt to taste
Water as needed
Tempering: (optional)
Mustard
Curry leaves
Asfoetida
Method:
Note :
1. You can filter the ground paste by adding some water to it so that the ungrounded bits don't bother you while drinking.
Curd/Yogurt - 1 cup
Ginger - a small piece
Green Chilli - 1
Cumin - 1/2 tsp
Asfoetida - 1 pinch
Curry leaves - 5
Coriander leaves/Cilantro - a little
Salt to taste

Method:
- Grind all the ingredients except the curd in a mixer to a fine paste.
- Mix the yogurt to a smooth paste and add the ground paste.
- Add water as needed and blend all together with a churner or blender. You can also use a bigger mixer jar to get the froth. Season with mustard and curry leaves with a pinch of asfoetida.
- Store in a mud pot if you have one and consume as needed.
- Enjoy your summer drink.
