Ingredients:
cooked toor dal - 2 cups
beetroot greens - 2 cups

onions - 1/4 cup
tomato - 1/4 cup
mustard, urad - 1 tsp
cumin - 1/2 tsp
red chili - 2
green chili - 2
curry leaves
turmeric - 1/4 tsp
curry leaves
salt to taste
oil
Method:
- First, add oil to a pan for tempering. Add mustard urad and red chili, and cumin.
- Add crushed garlic and curry leaves.
- When splutters add chopped onions and saute until tender,
- Add tomato, salt, and turmeric.
- The greens are reduced to half when cooked.
- Now add cooked dal, and water if needed.
- Boil for 2 mins.
- This dal is rich in iron and a wonderful combination with roti and rice. Add a dash of ghee when having with rice.
