Ingredients:
- Aval/thin poha - 1 cup
- Jaggery - 1/2 cup
- Cardamom - 1/4 tsp
- Grated coconut - 1/4 cup
- Cashews - 1/4 cup
- Ghee - 1 tbsp
- Salt - a pinch
Method:
- Melt jaggery in 1/4 cup water on low heat. Add cardamom powder and salt.
- Fry the aval/poha in 1/2 tsp ghee. Fry for a min, just enough to heat it up.
- Cooldown and grind to a coarse powder(rava consistency).
- In a pan add 1/2 tsp ghee, cashews, and roast.
- Add 1/4 cup grated coconut.
- Add the ground aval/poha. Mix.
- Add the jaggery water using a filter to strain to remove the dirt and cardamom flakes.
- Mix well and rest it for a few minutes for the aval to absorb the sweetness.
- Aval becomes soft and ready for pooja/to eat.
