Milagu Sadam

A spicy and quick lunch box recipe. I have enjoyed this recipe during my school days. My friend Josephine used to bring this often and we enjoyed this recipe. I have also been making this often while packing lunch for my family. Leftover rice works well and is a quick and easy prep in the morning.

  • Oil - 2 tsp
  • Salt - to taste
Tempering ingredients:

  • Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves

Method:
  • In a pan add oil (gingely oil preferred) when it starts to splutter add garlic, green chili.

  • Add curry leaves, and onions.

  • Fry for a while, add crushed pepper, salt.

  • Bring to low flame and stir in the rice and mix well.

  • Cooldown and pack for lunch.

Note:
You can also add cashews, peanuts, and a little ghee, which gives a different flavor.
