Palak Paratha


A simple and tasty paratha, with large amount of fiber, vitamins and minerals. The green color is a real treat for your eyes. One way of getting spinach into your kids food.
Ajwain/Omam seeds in this recipe is a good natural medicine for stomach disorders and indigestion.

Preparation Time :10 mins | Cooking Time :20 mins | Serves: 4

Ingredients:    

Wheat flour - 2 cups
Spinach - 1 bunch
Ginger - 1 inch
Green chili - 2 to 3(optional)
Ajwain/Omam - 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste 
Oil for folding and roasting

Method:
  • Blanch the spinach. I have just added hot water to the spinach and left it for a minute.
  • Drain the spinach from water add green chili, ginger and make a puree.

  • In  a bowl take two cups wheat flour, ajwain (crush the seed in your palm to bring out the flavor) and salt. Add the spinach puree to the wheat flour and mix them all together. Add water if needed.
  • Make into a smooth dough spread some oil on top,close with a damp cloth and rest for 30 mins.
  • Make lemon size balls, roll and flatten.You can add oil and fold them again and roll if you wish.






  • Place on hot tawa and cook both sides.


  • Serve with pickle and raitha or any side dish.

Note:
 Ajwain seeds have a strong flavor, so don't add too much.
