A chutney for spice and garlic lovers. I personally like garlic and add it to most of my recipes, this is a habit I have inherited from my mom.
This chutney can be used as a versatile sauce and can be stored in an air tight container for a longer shelf life.

Ingredients:
Chili - 15 nos
Garlic - 12 to 15 nos
Tamarind - 1 inch
Salt to taste
For Seasoning:
Oil - 1/4 cup
Mustard - 1/4 tsp
Urad - 1/4 tsp (optional)
Curry leaves
Method:
- Soak chili in warm water for 10 mins.
- Grind chili, garlic, tamarind and salt.
- In a pan add oil and season with mustard, urad and curry leaves.
- When splutters add the ground chili paste.
- Cook for 3 to 4 mins.
- Its done when the oil separates. Serve with idli/dosa. It is a great accompaniment with kuzhi paniyaram.
