Method:
Raw peanuts/verkadalai - 1 cup
Rice flour - 1 1/2 tbsp
Besan - 1 1/2 tbsp
Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Orange color (optional) - a pinch
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
Method:
- In a bowl add raw peanuts.
- Sprinkle some salt, and add ginger garlic paste.
- Add rice flour, besan, chili powder, and give a mix. Do not add water at this stage. The moisture from the ginger garlic paste helps to coat the flour.
- Sprinkle water little at a time just enough to make it wet.
- While the oil is getting heated, just sprinkle some rice flour on top to absorb the extra moisture. this also helps to get more crispy peanuts.
- Spread the peanuts in oil. Keep the oil in medium flame. It takes approximately 3 to 4 mins to get crispy.
- Drain them on a paper towel.
- Enjoy as a tea time snack. Store in an airtight container.
Note:
1. A little overcooked will give the burnt flavor of the peanuts. So make sure you don't make it brown.
